Break Time

I need a break. Honestly. The past few weeks for me have been draining. I have watched as the scale has stayed the same with only just the slightest change. Today, I am 243... .8 up from last week. I'm willing to bet it's water. I haven't been able to eat and drink like I'm supposed to. I've been eating a lot of crackers and other easily digestible items. I can't eat raw veggies at the moment because they make me feel like my stomach is going to fall out of my body. I have to be really careful what goes into my mouth. Last night was the first night in about a week I have eaten protein. And, I had to take something so I would not get sick. Water makes me want to gag right now. So, I need a break.

I'm still going to watch what I eat, track my food, and find easy to digest items that are also easy on the calories. I desperately want to lose weight but the fact that my stomach is not cooperating and the scale is not cooperating makes me feel like I just need to take a break. Start over. Refocus. Something.

And read Twilight. Have you heard about these books? I read the first last week and half of the second last night. My plan is to read more today.

But I need to refocus. So, if you don't hear from me in a little bit, don't worry. However, if it's more than a couple of weeks, send out a search party. My email is bagwell123 at gmail dot com. I'll be out trying to forage food to eat, reading Twilight, and getting refocused.

I hope you feel better soon! Just focus on getting well... and worry about the weight loss when you feel up to it. Once you're feeling better... it will be easier to work at losing weight.

I've read all of the Twilight books... and I love them! The movie was good, too. :)

I understand the break thing - I hope it works for you and that you feel better.
And I was ADDICTED to the Twilight books! I read all four in a span of 2 weeks, and that was just because I had to wait for them to arrive after I bought them online.

I hope you feel better soon. If anyone can make you feel better its certainly reading about Edward.

    I heart TWILIGHT!

I hope you're feeling better soon. Track, but don't look at the scale until you feel better. The sodium in the crackers at least will keep you retaining fluids.

You are inspiring me! I think it's great that your're still tracking even though you are not feeling good. I have read all the Twilight books and that should give you a big distraction from how you feel, I know those books came in handy during a difficult time in my life. When I picked up those books, I forgot everything that was happening and got pulled into the world of fantasy even if it was only for a few minutes.

I've had to do the "break" thing in the past too, totally understandable.

Enjoy the Twilight series! I read them all in about two months, they were kinda addicting, but at zero calories, I didn't care.

Yes, a break would be a good thing to focus on for right now. YOU have to come first - not weight loss. In the meantime, relax and enjoy Twilight! I used to teach junior high, so I got hooked on the books along with my students. I've read all of them!

I've been there. Heck, I think I'm still there. :-) I'm trying desperately to find a way to refocus, so I can understand. Don't stay away too long. It's easy for a break to turn into a rut.

Crystal, you're doing the right thing by taking a break. Relax, we'll all still be here, still interested in how you are, what you have to say and encouraging each other on our weight loss journeys. That's life, ain't it grand! Take care, Linda

Well Crystal, your intuition does you justice, take time out please! To hell with the scale, put it away, take care of yourself first. Enjoy reading and stop torturing yourself with all the questions about what's wrong with you. Did you ever think that may be part of the problem? Calm yourself, breath, take a lovely scented salt bath with candles and music, treat yourself with kindness and respect, trust me, your higher self will bring you back into balance more quickly doing all this then to be hard on yourself. You deserve this break, enjoy it fully. Linda

Hope you're doing well! I found your blog and we have so much in common - our start weights are 1 pound apart, same goal weight and we both want to see a little less crystal.

    Hope you enjoyed Twilight! :)

Have you read Eat to Live: The Revolutionary Formula for Fast and Sustained Weight Loss by Joel Fuhrman? Man, that book really changed how I eat. You can't help not lose weight and feel great doing it. He explains why food works the way it does.
